Video description: Visitors at Independence Visitor center watch a film about Philadelphia on a large screen, and interact with digital screens and large digital touchwalls that feature the city's landmarks and offerings. The screens and interactives react to their presence by lighting up or moving the elements onscreen to a height comfortable to them.

Independence Visitor Center

As the gateway to Philadelphia’s attractions, the Independence Visitor Center is essential for tourists exploring the city. Bluecadet partnered with the Visitor Center to enhance the visitor experience in a variety of ways, including overseeing architectural interventions, developing a new brand system, producing a new film, designing a website, and crafting an overall content strategy for the visitor journey.

A new brand and design system

Bluecadet collaborated closely with renowned brand studio Smith & Diction to create a new brand and visual identity. This brand was implemented across the entire visitor journey, encompassing a variety of digital and physical touchpoints.

Dynamic digital signage

Digital signage, wayfinding, and AI-enhanced technology connect visitors to the city. The signage rotates through Philadelphia’s historic sites, museums, and attractions. A content management system enables visitor center staff to keep all content up to date.

Welcome Film

Bluecadet shot, directed, produced, edited, and scored an 8-minute narrative film highlighting the Philadelphia experience.

The Concierge Wall

The 42-foot Concierge Wall is the main interactive hub for visitors seeking city activities. A content management system ensures timely updates and current announcements. The screens also support sponsored content and full takeovers, providing valuable information and generating revenue.

National Park Service Explorer

We designed and developed a touchscreen tailored for the National Park Service that maintains a presence in the Visitor Center. This experience specifically highlights the historical sites within walking distance of the center, and was optimized both for visitors to explore as well as for park rangers to offer a guided presentation.
