A site built to showcase the famous photographer's work, travels, and passion

Photographer Steve McCurry has been producing award-winning images for decades, traveling with his camera for organizations like National Geographic, and winning accolades for iconic shots like the Afghan girl with bright green eyes. Since he has a vibrant online presence, McCurry approached us to create an intuitive, classically clean, and tightly designed online home to congregate his images and websites. The new site's homepage features hero images that resize with the user's browser, making the site beautiful at any size, while a reorganized information architecture makes content easily accessible, letting users explore the images in a fluid way. The gallery navigation, for instance, allows for multiple image-viewing waypaths, like a grid view that contains over 55 easy-to-browse galleries. Viewers can use the grid to filter images by place or theme. The site showcases more than just images, however. The homepage features a prominent biography of McCurry, including in-depth looks behind the scenes of some of his most famous images. We've also created a new blog space to coalesce his heavily-followed Wordpress blog into the main site, and built a space to feature his famous Photo Expeditions. The whole site was built with a design aesthetic that reflects Steve's work and passion, and showcases both, all while allowing users to explore for themselves.
