A narrative element adds intrigue in this institutional site working to end injustice

The Juvenile Law Center is a non-profit, public interest law firm working to advance the rights and well-being of children in jeopardy. They wanted a website to not only showcase their in-depth legal documents, but also to appeal to the layman. Bluecadet created a versatile site with an added element of narrative.

The site is both navigable and emotionally compelling. For lawyers, the site features a large legal docket resource area, giving them up to date information on juvenile justice. For the layman, the "Featured Stories" section has up close and personal tales of the individual youth the Juvenile Law Center is fighting for, with imagery and narrative that articulate their plights in ways everyday people can connect with.

The Juvenile Law Center wanted to make sure visitors know that the firm operates nation-wide, not just in Pennsylvania. We built an interactive map that instantly depicts their national scope, with tool tips that users can hover over to explore their legal dockets in different states.

With the robust taxonomy, the content can be tagged by topic and theme across the site, making everything searchable, with color-coded "current initiatives" easy to spot and sort. The administrable Drupal back end lets staff update and change the sites's content with ease. And it's all integrated with the Juvenile Law Center's current contact relationship management software, Blackbaud Sphere.
