Interactive Timeline iPad App
The American Revolution Center
Visit siteExplore artifacts in an immersive iPad timeline
This interactive timeline lets users explore and engage with historical objects from the American Revolution, viewing them up close, listening to podcasts from historians, and discovering video and multimedia about the artifacts.
The American Revolution Center is an organization that is establishing The Museum of the American Revoltuion–the first national museum to tell the complete story of the American Revolution. The museum will open in the coming years, but as they move forward with museum planning, they continue to educate and engage people through their digital presence. In order to display highlights from their rich and diverse collection of historical artifacts, we originally created the rich Flash timeline for their desktop site, but now the experience is available on the iPad as a fully iOS compatible app.
The multi-touch app allows users to pinch to zoom in and out of the hi-res artifact images, browse through descriptions, and watch video, interacting with the timeline on a whole new level.
