Our new interactive timeline for the American Revolution Center is an immersive experience that lets users explore and engage with historical objects on their iPads.

It's already been listed on the Guardian's Apps Blog as an app to download (along with other party pleasers like Angry Birds and Beyonce's live performance app).

To check it out, download it for free and start exploring: view the objects in incredible detail, listen to podcasts from historians, and discover video and multimedia along the timeline.

We originally created the rich Flash timeline for the American Revolution Center's desktop site, but now the experience is available on the iPad as a fully iOS compatible app. The multi-touch app allows users to pinch to zoom in and out of the hi-res artifact images, browse through descriptions, and watch video, interacting with the timeline on a whole new level.
